Indian Country Today: Tribal nations are celebrating the reauthorized Violence Against Women Act. Congress passed the omnibus spending package for the 2022 fiscal year late Thursday, which included major tribal provisions. It passed in the Senate with a 68-31 vote. The bill will now head to the president’s desk to be signed. On Wednesday, February 10, a group of bipartisan senators introduced S. 3623, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Reauthorization Act of 2022.
