JOB ANNOUNCEMENT 

PROGRAM:               Sacred Hoop Coalition

POSITION TITLE:     Training and Resource Coordinator

REPORTS TO:                       Alyxis Feltus/ Randi Omdahl

 

 

Mending the Sacred Hoop is Native owned and operated non-profit 501 c (3) organization dedicated to providing training, resources and education to tribal communities both urban and non-urban while developing a response to American Indian and Alaska Native women who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking and stalking. Our organization has two distinct programs. MSH-TA, a national tribal technical assistance provider and the Sacred Hoop Coalition, whose primary work is in tribal communities in the state of Minnesots.

 

Training and Resource Coordinator Summary: 36 hours per week @ $19.00 per hour:

This position is a full-time, 2 year grant funded position working with the Sacred Hoop Coalition.  This position does not guarantee employment at the end of the year. However, should a position within the agency be made available, this person will have an opportunity to apply for an open position if qualified.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and sexual assault and how it relates to Native Women
  2. Coordinate and organize events and statewide trainings
  3. Work with a team to help develop training curriculum and resource materials related to violence against Native women
  4. Ability to travel and provide trainings/presentations around the state
  5. General Office work
  6. Participate in team, staff, and agency meetings
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned
  8. Must have valid driver’s license, insurance and vehicle for traveling purposes

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to commit to a weekly work schedule
  2. Self-directed and motivated and able to work independently
  3. Ability to handle details and meet deadlines
  4. Knowledge of basic computer skills
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of Violence Against American Indian & Alaska Native women and related issues and commitment to ending violence against women
  6. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Native American programs/community
  7. Ability and willingness to work with a team management approach
  8. Must be comfortable speaking in front of tribal community members and general public
